 Ball Race Print

In this exercise for all ages, the athlete faces in the direction he or she will be running and the coach or partner rolls a ball between their legs from behind. The rules are simple: The runner must sprint and catch the ball before it crosses a designated line. Just use a flat surface and designate a starting point and a finish point. The goal is for the runner to catch the ball before it passes the finish point.

Another interesting alternative is for the coach or partner to roll two balls at the same time and wait until the player is running at full speed before calling out “right” or “left” indicating which direction the runner must turn and which ball he or she must pick up.
